Iman Ahmed is a first generation screenwriter from NYC and an N.Y.U grad. She writes provocative stories about ambitious women who refuse to behave. She plays with power, desire, and messy love triangles (on the page!)

Her pilot HARAM DOCTOR won the Hour Long Pilot Category in the 2024 Final Draft Big Break Screenwriting Contest, standing out among thousands of submissions. She’s adapting it into a rom-com feature with a production company. She was selected for the 2025 Final Draft Fellowship Program with NY Film Academy. She wrote and produced the off-Broadway play BANNED at Theatre Row. In 2026, she was selected for the prestigious 15 week Writers’ Access Support Staff Training Program.

Iman participated in the Writers Guild Initiative workshop with showrunner Scott Frank (The Queen’s Gambit). Her short plays were selected to be read at the annual star-studded Writers Guild Initiative gala twice. Her short story GOOD MUSLIM GIRLS was a finalist in the Cosmopolitan fiction contest and published in their magazine. Her personal live story about being a young caregiver was featured on The Moth podcast in 2021 to over a million listeners. Iman's a UCB Diversity Fellow who wrote on a sketch comedy team to sold out shows at the PIT theater.
